Option 3: Add Captions Directly to Panopto

  1. Click on the Panopto Recordings Tab in your course.
  2. In the Panopto Recordings window, locate your video and select "Edit"

  3. When the editor window opens, select the "Captions" tab:

  4. Transcribe the file by typing what is said into the text entry window. Note: The text that you type in will begin to display as a caption at the moment in the video's timeline when you begin typing. It will continue to display as the caption until the moment on the video timeline when you hit enter.

  5. Remember to save your work, often.

  6. Captions will be available on the in the full video player, directly below the primary video stream. When you select the "Captions" tab, the captions will highlight based on the timecodes you created when you entered the captioning.
