WEEK 4: Lighting and Self Portraits

The focus of this week's project is all about self portraiture and proper lighting techniques. There is a lecture for you to watch that details different lighting scenarios, tips and tricks for creating well composed portraits, tips for lighting a variety of skin tones, and examples of self portraits by a variety of photographers.

You'll also find demos on post-production editing in Adobe Lightroom Classic and Adobe Photoshop CameraRAW (the Adobe program available for free use through the college's computer labs).

Shereen Lani Younes is a Syrian-American director, writer, and artist. As a filmmaker she writes, directs, produces, and shoots films and music videos, collaborating with musicians, filmmakers, and comedians to creatively push the boundaries of cinema and herself, committed to expressing honest and courageous work.
