DEMO: Using Remote Desktop to Access Adobe Photoshop and Camera RAW

This class specifically uses Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop for photo management and post production editing.

Currently, in person access to the college's computer labs are on a limited basis. You can find out more information on booking a time in the computer labs by going to SUPPORT: In Person Computer Lab Access 

For those not able to go to the computer labs in person, we are using a virtual desktop mirroring program called Microsoft Remote Desktop Links to an external site. that gives you access to the college's computer labs. Unfortunately, Lightroom is not available on these computers because of how it saves information on the computer's hard drive. 

  • Students can remotely log into computer labs from off-campus and use the software on these computers as if they were there in person. 
    • To access the computer labs at the Central campus, you can log in remotely through Microsoft Remote Desktop. See this page for details on installing Microsoft Remote Desktop on your MAC or PC.

    • Log in with your full @seattlecolleges email address and password to the computer labs here and select any of these BE rooms: 3148, 3151, 3156, 3161, 3165, 3167, 3168, 3173, 3174, 317

    • NOTE: Remote access to campus computer labs will be open from 5am to 10pm every day. Hours between 10pm and 5am are reserved for computer maintenance and updates. Use your day time hours wisely. 

You can, however, use Adobe Photoshop and Camera RAW Links to an external site., which will allow you to open and edit photographs created in RAW format. Camera RAW can edit photos very similar to Lightroom, therefore you can still edit your photographs in Camera RAW as I describe in the DEMO: File Management in Lightroom Classic , you will just need to save each edited version as separate files.
